About Clay Shirky
Clay Shirky is responsible for the academic side of technology-based teaching and learning across NYU. The role places him inside the question nearly every organization is now asking: which processes and values need to be redesigned as AI adoption spreads, and which are worth defending.
Shirky has been a leading voice on the social and economic impact of internet technologies since Here Comes Everybody, his account of the power of organizing without organizations. He followed it with Cognitive Surplus, on the creative potential of a connected population, and Little Rice, on smartphone maker Xiaomi and China's technology ambitions. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Wired and Foreign Affairs.
